Jesus lead the way!

Hola from Coronado, Panama! We have settled into our 3 bedroom townhouse, and are getting into the rhythm of a routine. The kids are in school Monday through Thursday, and Sam and I have been taking Spanish classes and working on a proposal for a business opportunity here in Panama, so please pray for direction for us in this! We are also leading a small group in our church and running youth nights while the Word of Life camp is going on down the road. The kids are involved in extra curricular activities, and life is rolling along well.

We feel like we’ve acclimatized somewhat to the heat, and it is now summer, and the dry season is upon us. That means less humidity, obviously, and the winds have picked up, which makes the evenings a little more bearable. We are thankful for the warmth, as it allows us to do more outside, but we have to be wise as to when we spend time outside during the daytime. Sunscreen and shade are our friends, or spending time in a cool pool or the ocean is a necessity when the sun is so intense.

Aside from the weather, we have been continuing to pray for little Lia. She remains in intensive care, and there has not been much change. Please continue to pray for her and for her sister and parents. The picture we included in this post is of her and her mom, Lisa. We are believing for a miracle, but we understand that God is in control, and we are trusting in him, no matter what. We want to say a HUGE thank you to those who have contributed to Lia’s Go Fund me page, or those who have transferred money directly to us. We have forwarded the money to our church, and they have used a portion to buy some medication that she desperately needs right now. Without the medicine, the machines for Lia in the future won’t be necessary, so our church board had to make an executive decision and use some of the funds for medicine at this time. Again, thank you for listening to God’s voice, and giving to this family in need. It was so amazing to see the support for this little warrior!!

We have also been praying for our new friend, Dave, from our small group at church. He just turned 51 this past week, and has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. We have been standing with him and his family and believing for a miracle for him also. If you feel led to pray for little Lia or our new friend Dave, we would appreciate that very much. Please let us know also if you have anything you would like us to be agreeing in prayer with you for as well. We love to pray with and for our family and friends back home!

If you could also be in prayer for the Word of Life camp, the first week of camp is just ending, and there are 7 weeks to go. Many young people will be giving their hearts to Jesus over the next few weeks, so please pray that God would prepare them! There is so much that needs to happen in order for these weeks of camp to go smoothly, so please pray that God would direct their steps as well! We have included some pictures of the camp grounds, and it is, indeed heaven on earth! Enjoy the view! Maybe you’ll feel led to come and volunteer next year from mid-January through until mid-March….you never know where God will lead you if you are willing!! 🙂

We are seeing God move in a mighty way here in Coronado! Our church is bursting at the seams with new people coming every week, and people can feel the move of the Holy Spirit here. We believe God is doing a mighty thing throughout the earth during this season! Continue to be faithful in where you are serving and ministering. It could be as simple as loving a co-worker through a hard time, praying with a total stranger that is having a rough day, buying a coffee for someone in need……God’s love can reach so many people if we all take the time to spread kindness to this hurting world!

Thank you to all who have sent messages of support as we live out this new season here in Panama! It has been amazing, but has also had it’s fair share of challenges with learning a new language and being submersed in a new culture and church. We trust and believe wholeheartedly that Jesus is leading the way, and we have seen God’s hand in so many ways as we walk throughout daily life. Once again, please feel free to share your stories of how God is leading you! We love to be a part of what he is doing all over the world!

Bendiciones y amor de parte do los Gallaghers! (Blessings and love from the Gallaghers!)

Wow, that is a beautiful place you’ve landed in! It seems backward to hear about this being the end of summer, while for us it’s only the beginning of ‘real’ winter! Lots of snowing lately, but that’s boring and normal eh?? lol I’d like prayer for an orderly mind and for God to use me in the food bank as I take over the role of coordinator (temporarily) in addition to my day to day duties. I’m praying for someone more skilled in administration to come, and that I will be adequately equipped by God to do the job well until that person He wants, comes along.
Pastor Steve’s last day was today, they leave for Dawson Creek at the end of January. The subjects will come off the sale of their house here, tomorrow, Lord willing!! We will miss them, but God is definitely calling them to Dawson Creek. I’ve also had a conversation with a new lady, who I think God wants me to possibly disciple eventually. Right now she’s not interested in spiritual things, but the more we talked, the more I realized she has a false idea of what ‘church’ means and IS. 🙂 So far, God is just showing me that I’m ‘useful’ even in my small little corner. 🙂

Yes, it is strange to talk about the heat here, when back in Canada it is the opposite!! Praying for God to lead the right person to the food bank! You are a faithful servant in the meantime, but God is Jehovah Jireh, our “provider”, so we know he is faithful to provide what we need when we need it!
Praying for guidance with this woman God has put in your path, that he will give you the words to speak so she can see Jesus through you! 🙂
God bless you, my friend! God is using all of us in wherever he has planted us….for HIS glory!!! Amen!!
